Conclusion from Shattering the 'Left Behind' Delusion CONCLUSIONThe Bottom Line In countless churches and seminaries, and in books and magazines, the reality of resurrection and life in Christ is ambiguously described as a somewhat present but incomplete element of Christs work. We don't get the "best" until we get our old physical bodies back. The bottom line is, there is no scriptural reason why departed Christians are not in heaven today and in their resurrection spiritual bodies. The Lord has returned as and when He said He would, and the dead have been raised as and when they were expected to be. If these two prerequisite events have not occurred, then these two conclusions cannot be reached. Scripture is that straightforward, that inescapable, and that profound on this matter. The beauty of the preterist view is its strong evidence that these two end-time events have happened, and happened exactly as and when they were supposed to. Therefore, if you are a Christian and die tonight, you will go directly to heaven, receive your judgment of rewards, and eternally put on your new, resurrection, spiritual body. Count on it. I am! In the meantime, there is a lot of co-heir living and Christ-like reigning to be done, much more than is usually preached, practiced, and perceived by the "rapture-left-behind" crowd. Jesus Christ has done everything for his people to be "kings and priests unto God" (Rev 1:6 KJV), to "reign on the earth" (Rev 5:10), and to "reign for ever and ever" (Rev 22:5). Let's rejoice, be glad, and start behaving more like all this is true.
