Booted and Banned!

download (15)“You are no longer welcome,” I was tersely informed this week by the Preterist Theological Society.

The reason for terminating my membership was – “your contributions were not helping to further the cause of the group or the purpose for its existence.”  And they are probably right.

After all, I’ve been exposing and opposing some significant things many in PTS stand for, have been doing so for many years, and have done so frequently and extensively in personal emails and conversations with numerous PTS members, in presentations at theological conferences, in my published books, on Internet groups and posts, and on PRI’s website.  Such things as: PTS’s claims that the charismatic gifts of the Spirit ceased after A.D. 70 and that A.D. 70 was the “return” and “second coming” of Jesus Christ, and the weaknesses of their reductionist views of resurrection and the kingdom of God, etc.

Not surprisingly, I’ve also been accused of being “rude” and “obnoxious,” not taking “time to actually engage in discussion,” and doing “little more than pub your website. . . .”

Such is the consequence sometimes of pursuing theological discourse—you get the left foot of fellowship.

But what do you think?
